Six Feet In Heels

Fashion is something that has always been a passion of mine. From an early age I have loved anything and everything that was in some way related to it. Starting a blog, in relation to this subject that I am so in awe of and inspired by, is something I have wanted to do for years. However, given the daily stresses of life, it has been very easy for me to consistently say “I’ll get around to it”, or “I’ll start working on one when I have more time”. I think this is something that many people can relate to. I wish I could tell you there is some easy way to stop making excuses and decide to take a leap of faith to pursue your passion, but there isn’t one. All I am here to tell you is what drove me to finally take the leap myself.

I have worked in Finance since I graduated from college, and I have enjoyed the challenges and the ups and downs that come with having a career. However, after three plus years of the daily work grind, I realized that I needed something to focus on other than quarterly production numbers and sales pitches. I realized that I needed a creative outlet; something that was just for me where I could focus on my own passions. In the back of my mind, I always knew I wanted to start a blog centered on fashion and style. Given my new revelation that there is more to life than weekly branch meetings, I concluded that there is no better time than the present. So, with all of that being said, I am ecstatic to launch my own fashion blog, Six Feet In Heels.

I have many hopes for Six Feet In Heels, but most of all I hope it will be a place where I can showcase my own personal style. I also want to use this blog as a way to have fun with my style and expand upon it. Given the field I work in, I am limited to the fashions risks I can take. Last I checked, it is not appropriate to wear leather shorts to client meetings, but when it comes to the blog I will not have those limitations set upon me.  I want to use this opportunity to bring out the little kid inside of me who used to love playing dress up with her friends, and putting on absurdly long fashion shows for her relatives to sit through. Just because I am older, it does not mean that I cannot find joy in the little things that used to amuse me. Another hope of mine is to showcase the city of Boston. Boston is more than the place that I live. It is an amazing city that I have come to love. I hope that in sharing my style with everyone that I am also able to capture the unique beauty that can be found all around this city. Lastly, I hope that anyone who follows along enjoys what I have to share with the world. If I can inspire even one person by doing all of this, then it will have been worth it to me in the end.
