I have been living in this sweater/skirt set lately, whether I have been wearing the pieces together or separately. Not only is it very warm and comfortable, but it also doesn't look half bad either! I had previously been hesitant to wear a skirt like this prior, mainly because I always thought that it wouldn't look good on me, or that it might make me look heavier. My mind was changed completely though when J.Jill sent me this beautiful separates outfit!

This experience just further reminded me that fashion is really what you make of it. I can't tell you how many times women I know say things like "I wish I could wear something like that", or "I could never pull off that look". Well my friends, I am here to tell you that you can! A lot of times we are just scared, myself included, to try something that is outside of our normal comfort zone when it comes to clothing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with sticking to what you know, but I'm here to encourage you to try taking a step over that imaginary 'comfort' line! Next time you see something that you love, but are scared to try for yourself, just take the plunge and go for it! Just remember to keep an open mind. The look you're trying may not work with the particular pieces you've picked in that instance, or you may have just found exactly what you needed. In the game of fashion, it can often times be a crapshoot, but don't get discouraged! If it helps you to keep powering through, then hopefully you can think of my story of trying out a sweater skirt! As I said before, I always thought they made me look heavier, even though I loved the looks on other people. Then one day I threw caution to the wind, and despite my worries on my appearance, I gave it a try. And as you can see from this post, everything in this instance worked out!

If you yourself have always wanted to try out the sweater/skirt combo then check out the bottom of this post in the 'Shop' section! I have curated five different looks you can try out, with this week's look serving as inspiration!
