Packing Essentials

Packing for any trip can sometimes feel like a daunting task. The key to making this task and your overall life a bit simpler is to have your go-to travel essentials, a travel routine, and some tried and true outfit ideas. You’ll be amazed at how less stressful an upcoming trip becomes once you have all of these things in check. Check out below for some of my go-to outfits to pack for a trip...

When traveling you always want to make sure that you have something comfortable to wear on the plane. Just because it is comfortable, that does not mean that you need to sacrifice when it comes to style. My go to pieces to wear when traveling are a nice pair of leggings, a comfortable tee, and some sort of sweater or light jacket, as I always get cold. When it comes to footwear, you will want something that you can stand to be in for a prolonged period of time, that is also easy to take on and off while going through the dreaded airport security. Think more along the lines of a cute pair of sneakers or booties, and less about lace up flats (even if they are adorable and currently very trendy!). One last tip for your travel outfit is to wear any hats you want to bring with you on the plane. You obviously cannot wear multiple, but I have found that there is nothing worse than losing a great hat to the rough handling of your suitcase once you have checked it. So to avoid that painful experience, just incorporate your favorite hat into your travel outfit.

Whenever you are going on a trip, it is safe to assume that you'll be in need of some outfits for a night on the town. With vacation comes a break from responsibility, meaning that you will want a night to dress up and have that extra martini...you don't have any early alarms set!

I am a huge fan of jumpsuits! Not only do they look great, but they are a very easy option to have, especially when traveling. Jumpsuits are perfect because you they are an all in one outfit. Throw it on and add some cute heels and you are ready for a night out!

The jumpsuit pictured I got from Zara a few years back and is by far one of my favorite outfits, but check out some other great options below!

When it comes to any trip, the only downside has got to be the jet lag. I have found that one of the best things to get over it is to get a good sweat in. I always make sure to pack some work out clothes so I can squeeze in a run or two, and the best part is that they don't take up too much space in your suitcase!

I tend to buy my workout clothes from Old Navy because they are way more affordable than other brands, but are still cute. Click below to check out what they have to offer!

The last types of outfit you'll want to make sure you have on hand are some casual clothes for daytime when you will be sightseeing and exploring your destination. The key to packing these types of outfits are layering pieces that are multi-functional. Think throw on and go dresses, light jackets, jeans, and sweaters. If you have good bases for layering, then all you'll need are a few accessories to change up your look. This can be anything like jewelry, scarves, belts, etc.

The look I have highlighted here is a super comfortable t-shirt dress with a denim jacket, scarf, and espadrilles. This is a great outfit to wear during the day, but is still able to be worn from the streets to dinner. Click below to shop this look!
